FFXIII update

I guess I haven't been keeping up on the Final Fantasy XIII media updates, but this one came out a little while ago- and it puts what they are going for into perspective a little bit better. I am still worried that this game is going to be a FFX/Rogue Galaxy mash up, this story looks a lot better than FFX or Rogue Galaxy. The Leona Lewis song seemed like a weird/wrong artist choice, but this trailer puts it into perspective for me a little bit.

Check out the voice acting and the mouth movement in sync with the vocal tracks. I am 20% more pumped after seeing this. (maybe it will calm my let down from White Knight Chronicles...)

Also, the FFXII website has been updated a little, so there is some more information if you just can't wait.

Looks a bit emo to me. The best character graphics we have seen this year were on realistic characters, not fantasy.. which is probably why this looks good. We are naturally expecting fantasy characters to look less rendered, IMO. We need to break out of the box. If this doesn't look as good as the other great games out for the PS3, its a fail.

Don't get me wrong. The Final Fantasy franchise has been losing my attention since FFIX, and the degradation has been exponentially growing. FFXII was encouraging to me, because it felt a little more classic with the license board.

I am saying I am more exceted than I was previously, but that is not to say that I am as excited for FFXIII as I was for FFVII, or even Mass Effect 2. This game is going to be the best RPG available for the PS3 when it comes out, I believe that because Sqaure Enix knows how to make a game, but that is not to say that this game is going to survive the weathering of time as one of Final Fantasy's Greatest. I do not think that this game will compared to the PS1 Final Fantasy Debut (FFVII) the PS2 Final Fantasy Debut was kind of trash, but kind of announced the direction of future Console RPG gaming. I am missing the Genre leading OOMPH that square has had in the past with this title, I don't know what they are trying to do that is new. Maybe the Fabula Nova Crystalis is going to be an amazing compliation that topples the entire framework of single player RPGs. We just don't know quite yet here in America.

Emo, yes. But what Final Fantasy wasn't?
